Parlett Kent's clinical negligence department is recognised as
one of the leading practices in the field since it's founding in
the early 1980's. The team's strength and depth of experience in
handling these complex and sensitive claims has led to Parlett Kent
being recognised as a firm of 'premier quality' in the Chambers
Directory of the Legal Profession. Four of the partners have been
recognised as leaders in the field both in Chambers and in the Legal
500.
Our team of lawyers deal with cases of utmost severity as well
as a wide range of High court and County Court claims. All partners
have been involved in leading clinical negligence cases. Parlett
Kent has extensive experience in dealing with all areas of clinical
negligence including cases involving children with disability, the
misdiagnosis and treatment of cancer, fatal cases, sexual abuse
and psychiatric negligence claims. The firm also pursues claims
against the legal profession arising out of the mishandling of clinical
negligence claims (see Professional Negligence). We have pursued
a number of cases against private hospitals and our solicitors have
been involved in a number of high profile cases against private
institutions.
All six partners in the practice are members of the Law Society's
clinical negligence panel, the AvMA referral panel and the Association
of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). Partners are also members of
the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Richard Grand Society
and the MIND panel. Parlett Kent regularly lectures to lawyers,
nurses, health service managers and social workers on clinical negligence
and risk management. We also contribute articles and papers to journals
on a wide range of legal and healthcare issues.
Our team of lawyers in both offices are assisted by para-medical
support. In addition to the six specialist partners we also have
to assistant solicitors both trained exclusively in personal injury
and clinical negligence litigation and seven paralegal assistants.
Parlett Kent remains one of the few specialist practices to offer
community legal funding (legal aid) to eligible clients and we offer
funding packages including no win no fee in suitable cases (see
Funding your Case). We offer a free screening process where your
case will be assessed by our team of lawyers and paramedical staff
and in appropriate cases we also offer a free interview and assessment.
We pride ourselves on our commitment, friendly and approachable
staff and proven track record providing high quality legal service
on a wide range of difficult and challenging cases. |
